I recently finished Shiren 6!!
And collected all clear icons!! 。゚(TヮT)゚。 This was my first Shiren game and the first time I played a Mystery Dungeon game to completion!
The 99F Dungeon took me 16h... s i x t e e n hours!!!! I'm glad I'm done with this game - not in a bad way but I'm glad /sweats 16h...
Gameplay
When I started playing, very little help was available in English because it's not a popular game series in the west. So I learned a lot just from playing the game. Honestly, making my own discoveries and getting better through my efforts & mistakes felt pretty good. Later I would watch Okayu play a little to learn new tricks. For example, throwing stones on a poison trap to collect poison arrows!
In the end, the main story dungeon was probably the best part and I wish there was more to it! Like more alternative or hidden paths. The post-game dungeons were also nice once I got the hang of it but I felt sad for my carefully crafted gear that I couldn't use anymore.
Let me overpower monsters!! ⁽⁽(੭ꐦ •̀Д•́ )੭*⁾⁾ ᑦᵒᔿᵉ ᵒᐢᵎᵎ
The Cute
Ok now for the most important part: is this game cute? YES!
Look at them:
You can have pets in this game! I had a whole bunch at the end and they loved me hehe
ALSO! There is a super cute little love story! It was surprising because the game first made the impression of "Shiren - The harem protagonist" but it turned out differently.
I didn't expect this!! It was so sweet!
In the end, they got cock-blocked by their pig crewmate though lol (I wouldn't mind seeing doujinshi of them both *cough*(not the pig..))
But now for THE CUTEST OF THE CUTEST:
The Rain & Sun god siblings, Kokatsu & Tatsumi!! ♡(.◜ω◝.)♡
Both of these characters are just perfect!! And I love sibling stories!! Sooo cute!!! I'm dying!! (AGAIN)
Look at his face!! Precious!!
Look at her face!! Precious!!
Look at them!! Precious!!
The character design for both of them is super good, I want to draw them!
About Clearing Games 100%
So a few months ago I made a promise to myself, to try and clear games 100% before starting anything new. Generally, I want to consume media more intentionally... give it more purpose?
There are too many games coming out yearly and I easily get overwhelmed by the choice.. it made me not enjoy games fully anymore. Now I try to plan what I will play and be pickier with games. I need to accept that I don't have enough time to try every game that looks interesting and also don't need to play every game!
Certain candidates for this year:
Elden Ring DLC: Most anticipated "game" of this year
Fantasy Life Switch: Loved the 3DS one and you can play it with friends. Super excited about this one!
Pokemon Ultra Moon: I'm starving for Pokemon content and haven't played this yet
Games that I might squeeze in toward the end of the year:
Unicorn Overlord: The demo was good and I played almost all Vanillaware games so far. Just don't feel like playing a long strategy game right now.
So I think there is one free spot. One game every 2 months sounds healthy??? (゚▽゚`*)? Idk how much is normal anymore!!
