The definition of freedom is to have an ability to make choices and decisions.
Freedom allows you to decide how you live your life. The average adult makes about 35,000 conscious decisions every day(Barbara Sahakian). Everyday we think about what to eat or where to go. Regardless of the quality of the options, we select one thing many times in daily life.
Finland is famous as the happiest country in the world, and the government honors citizens’ freedom. A number of options makes Finland the most free country(Yoshiko Buell).
You can not feel free when you find yourself under strict control. The state of Eritoria is the least happy country (Reporters without Borders). Most citizens can decide nothing, and they have to obey the government. In fact, this country still has a compulsory conscription system, and the government decides what citizens study at college or what job they do. All citizens are ridiculed as slaves. (Nikkei Business Publication Inc). Most citizens have tried to escape from this county. What they desire is freedom.
Thus, they want the right to make a choice and they desire to live their own life. These two countries clearly show that freedom is characterized by the capacity to choose and decide.
