AI fixed my writing ✏️

I wrapped up work for the year last Friday. In Japanese, this is called shigoto-osame, which means finishing work on the last business day of the year and then starting the New Year holidays.

Today, I cleaned the dirty windows in my house as part of our year-end cleaning. The windows and their frames were really dirty because I had skipped cleaning them last year.

I thought about asking my kids to help, but I knew it would actually take more time, so I decided not to.

I haven’t finished cleaning some parts of the inside windows yet, so I’ll have to do that tomorrow.

Original one ✏️

I did 仕事納め last Friday. 仕事納め means that is finishing work at last day of the end of the year then starting day off for new year.

Today, I cleaned up dirty windows in my house as 大掃除. The windows and those sash are so dirty because of I slacked off it last year.

I thought I asked my kids to help cleaning up but if I do, it will be rather than taking time a lot, so I didn't.

I haven't finished to clean up some parts of inside window. I've got to do tomorrow.

Improvement Points By AI

  • Replace literal translations with natural expressions (“wrapped up work for the year”).

  • Explain Japanese cultural terms using clear English descriptions.

  • Fix grammatical structures (“because I…,” “finished cleaning”).

  • Use natural vocabulary (“window frames,” “year-end cleaning”).

  • Simplify long sentences for clarity and readability.
